What can I mix Mommi 3-in-1 with?

Mommi 3-in-1 can be mixed with milk, juice, or water. It can also be mixed with fruit, yogurt, or anything else you like in your smoothie. Check out the recipes page for recipe ideas.

Should I continue to take my prenatal vitamin while taking Mommi 3-in-1?

No, Mommi 3-in-1 includes a full prenatal vitamin and 200 mg of DHA with every serving and you should not be taking another prenatal vitamin.

Can I take Mommi 3-in-1 when I am trying to get pregnant or while I am breastfeeding?

You can take Mommi 3-in-1 when you are trying to get pregnant as well as when you are breastfeeding. Most doctors recommend you start taking a prenatal vitamin up to a year before trying to get pregnant and women who are breastfeeding need about 25 grams of extra protein as well as 400-500 extra calories.

How much protein do I need?

Most people need about 45 grams of protein daily, depending on height, body type, and exercise routine.  Women who are pregnant or nursing need an additional 25 grams of protein daily, or 70 grams in all.  Use the protein calculator to discover how much protein you need.

Why does Mommi use whey protein and not soy or other veggie proteins?

How many additional calories do I need for my growing baby?

The average pregnant woman requires about 300 additional calories than prior to be pregnant.  Women who are breastfeeding require an extra 400-500 calories.  Mommi 3-in-1 has about 290 calories when taken with 12 oz. of 1% milk.  Read more about prenatal nutrition.

Why is DHA important?

DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is an Omega-3 fatty acid and is vital for the nerve and brain cell development in fetuses and babies.  Mommi 3-in-1 has 200 mg of DHA per serving.  Read more about DHA and why it is important.

Does iron cause constipation?

Iron is very important during pregnancy and helps produce red blood cells, distribute oxygen through your body, and helps maintain your immune system.  Nausea and constipation are common side effects of taking iron supplements and pregnant women are particularly susceptible.  Mommi 3-in-1 uses a chelated iron that is designed to be more digestible and gentler on your body.
