It’s Day 10 of The 12 Days of Holiday Giving at Mommi & we are thrilled to honor Melissa Marbery today – a mama 13 weeks pregnant with her first babe. She was nominated by her best friend Kristi Shields. We are so excited for you Melissa! Motherhood is a beautiful thing!!
We asked Melissa to tell us a little bit about her journey to motherhood. In her own words:
I am the youngest of 5 kids. My older siblings were married and had children before I even graduated from high school. I grew up as the favorite aunt. My 8 nieces and 1 nephew are the pride and joy in my life. Any free time I had, I took trips to visit my family. I loved watching my sisters and brother as parents to their adorable children. I only could dream that someday I would have my own children that I would love more than these kids. My sisters referred to me quite often that I was a second mom to their children. My friends have always said “If you can’t find Melissa, find the children…she’ll be there.
I made it through college and 6 years of teaching before that dream even came close to a reality. I am now 29 and have only been married a few months. My husband and I wanted to start a family immediately. We are extremely blessed to have gotten pregnant so quickly. I am now 13 weeks and am due June 20th. That’s the perfect time because school will be out and I will have all summer to be with my little one. There is nothing more that I could ever want than to be a mom to my own children.
