Reclining Hero Pose is helpful for nausea, heartburn and indigestion. And as an added bonus, it’s also great for decreasing leg swelling and stretching your ankles.
For this pose you want to make sure your body is well supported at about 45 degrees (just like Reclining Queen). You can be creative here; stack pillows in bed, or if you’re at a gym use a step with mats or blankets behind you, etc. Just make sure your nose is above your chin & your low back is well supported (so it doesn’t sink to the ground).
First start out seated on you knees, then open up your legs & feet (about 6 inches) so your butt can sit between your knees. If this hurts your knees sit on a block or pillows.
Once you’re legs are set-up, lie back into your support. Close your eyes perhaps using an eye pillow is an added delight. Now let your hands fall to the side with palms up. Visualize any discomfort in your belly and legs melting away because that’s what is happening! Namaste…
