Lindsey lives in Dallas, Texas with her husband, son, and furbaby, Ralphy. She also works as a Registered Nurse and loves to bake.
In Lindsey’s words…If I had to pick someone that has shaped me and inspired me as the mother I am, I would say it would be my own mother, and the women that of course shaped her into the mom that she is and was. My mom and I are actually very similar, so much so that we could have come from the same mold. We look exactly alike, sound very similar, and I catch myself saying the same things she said to me as a child. I have always loved children and anticipated the day that I would become a mother. Little did I know, how much I would learn from having children.
I remember very distinctly one day when I was nursing my son, and I said to my husband, “I can’t believe that someone so little has made me want to be such a better person.” I still feel that way, and feel like I tell people that constantly. EVERYTHING in my life is so different from before I was a mother. I wanted to be a healthy example for my son, so I started eating better and exercising more. I have never been a patient person, and boy, have I learned to be more patient. I have even had people at work tell me that having kids has made me a “softy.”
Over the past 18 months, my little guy has taught me so much patience, unconditional love, and pure happiness. He has truly inspired me to be a better person. Motherhood has been the most difficult and most joyous time of my life.
