The best part about building Mommi has been working with the amazing women we meet along the way. Meet Bethany – she has major talent when it comes to flat lay photography, coming up with awesome pregnancy memes and being a mom to 3 kiddos!
We are so grateful to have her on Team Mommi! Here’s a snippet of a little interview to get to know her better:
1. Tell us about yourself!
I’m a wife and mom to three awesome kids who are all blonde like my husband. They are 8, 7 and 4. I do Social Media Coordination and Virtual Assisting from home part-time for small businesses. I give myself “me time” at least 4 days a week and use it at the gym lifting weights and lunch with girlfriends and NEVER feel bad about any of these things. My favorite thing we do as a family is regular one day adventures to wherever we can drive within 2 hours of home.
2. What’s your favorite thing about pregnancy?
Feeling the baby move around inside. It’s like getting to know their personality just a little before actually meeting them.
3. What was the hardest thing for you about pregnancy?
The hardest thing about each pregnancy (3) was the being tired everyday and hip pain that required chiropractic work from a slip on the ice just a couple of months before my first pregnancy.
4. What’s one thing about pregnancy you never expected that happened to you?
The one thing I did not expect was being asked “are there twins in there” after only 3 months. I’m only 5 feet tall so my belly goes straight out pregnant and fitting clothes wasn’t easy.
5. What’s the best pregnancy advice you ever received?
The best pregnancy advice I can give is own your method of delivery (and all of your decisions as well) BUT remember the doctor is who she/he is for a reason and listen to reason when your birth plan goes unplanned. I had 3 c-sections and never in my wildest dreams did I think that would happen. And in the end it’s okay, it was not the end of the world and my children were delivered safely and healthy.
6. What’s your favorite Mommi recipe?
My favorite recipe is one I made up: Almond milk, Chocolate Mommi, 4 pieces frozen cauliflower, 2 pieces frozen avocado, small handful raw spinach, 1 banana, 5 frozen strawberries, 1 teaspoon Spirulina Powder, and a spoonful of almond butter or peanut butter. Since most of these are an eyeball on measuring it tends to make a lot so I put half in a tupperware with a tablespoon of chia seeds to thicken over night and then the next day add some nuts and oats to make a smoothie bowl.
