The Trick to Better Sleep During Pregnancy

Every pregnant woman rolls her eyes when someone says “you better get your sleep now, because when the baby comes you won’t get any sleep at all!” The truth is that most pregnant women can’t sleep anyway because they are either nauseous, have heartburn, or are so uncomfortable that they toss and turn all night. What is a pregnant mama to do?

Another issue is allergies which can become even worse when expecting! If you suffer from nighttime allergies you are not alone. In fact, over 60 million Americans suffer from allergies and asthma symptoms. The leading triggers of nighttime allergen issues are the dust mites, dander and other particulates found in and around the sleep environment. If you do not use mattress and pillow protectors to protect your sleep sanctuary, then you are feeding a colony of dust mites who feast on the skin cells you shed every night. Scary? We know it’s not pretty, but there are products on the market to help. We tried PureCare Aromatherapy Pillow Protectors and were blown away by the difference they make in a good night’s sleep.

At PureCare, sleep health and wellness is their top priority. Their complete collection of sleep essentials includes pillows, protectors and mattress toppers, all of which are clinically proven to keep your sleep environment safe from allergens, dust mites, bed bugs, bacteria, mold and mildew. Their products are clinically tested by Dr. Philip M. Tierno Jr., Director of Clinical Microbiology & Immunology at New York University Langone Medical Center. According to Dr. Tierno, “the accumulated quantities of allergens that build up in your mattress over time like fungi, bacteria, dust mites, dander, and numerous other particulates can lead to exacerbations of asthma and allergies or contribute to their development. A medical-quality mattress protector is the solution.”

PureCare takes an active interest in your health and well being so you can rest comfortably knowing that you getting the sleep you need as you prepare to welcome your little one into the world. Let’s face it – you are going to need all the energy you can get in the first several months of their life! So take advantage of anything you can to help.

PureCare’s Aromatherapy, Celliant® and Antibacterial Silver collections are the official mattress and pillow protectors of the National Sleep Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving sleep health and safety. Dr. Natalie Dautovich, the National Sleep Foundation’s Environmental Scholar, says “Sleep is a cornerstone of a healthy lifestyle and plays a critical role in our brain health”.

Another tip while you are creating life? Make sure to relax! Relaxation is essential to a good night’s sleep. PureCare Aromatherapy mattress and pillow protectors come with lavender scented sachets that infuse your sleep environment with calming scents. We have been using them for about a month now and they are so calming! You have probably heard that lavender helps with a child’s sleep and it is no different for the mama! All natural lavender has also long been relied upon for relief from sore muscles, headaches, and inflammation. Lavender may also improve sleep quality and promote relaxation in individuals who have trouble sleeping. PureCare offers a total of five scents to enhance your relaxation experience: Lavender, Jasmine, Mandarin, Sandalwood, and Eucalyptus.
