You can give them Joovy’s Boob Bottle – it feels like pretty much the same thing! The moms at Mommi are constantly on the look-out for the best products for all mamas out there and recently we came across Joovy, a bottle brand that we all LOVE! My daughter only breastfed until 8 months and then she was DONE. It was all I could do to get her to cuddle with me when she would nurse and then 8 months hit and it was like she had moved out of the home to start college. Miss Independent wanted to do her own thing with her own bottle. The problem was, I could never find one that she didn’t finish within 5 minutes of handing it to her. At first it was kind of amusing how she would suck down all the milk quickly and then she would just casually cast the bottle aside with a “clunk” and look at me with an expression that inquisitively said “that’s all you’ve got mom?”

Then I got the Joovy Boob bottle when she was 11 months old and it changed for the better. I actually got the newborn one with slow release which was a huge blessing in disguise because she actually started enjoying feeding time more and taking her time. She even let me cuddle her while she drank it down, which to me was priceless. She has several other bottles but I always put her down with the Joovy Boob because it helps her fall asleep (I know what you “by the book” moms are thinking – you aren’t supposed to put your baby down with a bottle! But it keeps me sane which is more important, trust me:)

My son LOVES the Boob. Yes, he loves to breastfeed, and I have been blessed to be able to continue to nurse and he is 13 months old.  BUT, he also loves to use the Joovy Boob bottle. As a full time stay at home mom, and full time Registered Nurse, I knew from the gitgo that introducing a bottle was inevitable.  I had heard horror stories of nipple confusion, refusing to return to nursing, etc. Initally, we had tried a few other bottle systems, and my son would take the bottle from my husband, but REFUSED to take it from me; he knew I had the real thing. Then, I was introduced to the next best thing to the real Boob… the Joovy Boob. We have tried all three varieties, the PP, PPSU, and the Glass Boob.

My personal favorite is the glass. I was hesitant about a glass bottle, as I was afraid it would break too easily. Joovy has an awesome silicone sleeve that offers a slip-free grip and prevents against dropping and breaking the bottle.  Glass does not take up stains, nor does it absorb taste or odor, ensuring that your bottles stay clean and healthy for baby.

All the Joovy Boobs have an easy to assemble and clean 1-piece CleanFlow vent. The vent is a simple ring with tabs that fits perfectly into the neck of the bottle, preventing leaks, spills, and irregular milk flow. I hate the bottles that you have to put together multiple pieces, and then STILL have precious milk leaking.

The durable, silicone nipples are specially designed for working mamas, or mamas who need the convenience of switching back and forth from breast to bottle.  The nipple has a large diameter base, and are specially MOLDED, not cut, to 4 different natural flow rates.

The Joovy Boob has been a lifesaver for me, as it has given me the covenience to offer a bottle in public, if needed. As my son got older, nursing in public became harder and harder; it was great to finally find a bottle he would take from me! They also have a great breastpump attachment that fits perfectly to my Medela pump to the PP or PPSU Boob bottle.
